Sommerschule 2027 in Berlin-Tiergarten

Robert Dow (1553-1588) began um 1581 die Stimmbücher anzulegen und Musik zu kopieren. Sie sind in vielerlei Hinsicht eine einzigartige Quelle für die Musik der Tudor-Zeit. Dow war ein ausgebildeter Kalligraph und schrieb die Musik sehr klar und leicht lesbar. Er sammelte die Werke der wichtigsten Komponisten seiner Zeit: William Byrd, Alfonso Ferrabosco, Robert Parsons, Thomas Tallis, Christopher Tye, Robert White und vielen anderen.

Meist handelt es sich um fünfstimmige Vokalmusik aber Stimmbücher wurden offensichtlich für instrumentales Consortspiel im privaten Rahmen gebraucht. Zuerst fällt die Viola da Gambe ein, aber auch auf Blockflöten und Traversflöten passt die Musik sehr gut.

Wie immer schicken wir die Musik einige Monate vorher, dieses mal nur als Facsimile. Du solltest g, f, and c-Schlüssel lesen können. Es gibt ein abgestimmtes Consort (17 Instrumente nach den Blockflöten in Wien) das wir benutzen. Ebenso ein Consort Renaissance Traversflöten und 6 Gamben nach Henry Jaye.
